Practice Nurses

We have highly skilled Practice Nurses who offer a wide range of services. They are available by appointment in the surgery Monday to Friday between 08:30 – 12:30 and 13:00 – 18:00. Some nursing care is also provided via the Care and Treatment Centre at Arbroath Infirmary. At times you may be asked to attend the Outpatient Department at Arbroath Infirmary for aspects of your nursing care. This includes but is not limited to dressings, suture removal and ear care.

Healthcare Assistant

Our Healthcare Assistant provides support to the Doctors and Practice Nurses. She performs phlebotomy (blood tests), ECG (heart tracing), blood pressure and urine checks along with some other tasks. Unfortunately, this post is currently vacant and these tasks are being performed by colleagues in the Care & Treatment Centre at Arbroath Infirmary.

Medical Administration Team

The Medical Administrators will usually be your first point of contact with the Practice. They will do their best to help with your query or will be able to direct your enquiry to the most appropriate member of the extended team. This may be a Doctor, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist, Optician, Physiotherapist or Social Prescriber.

There are a team of Practice Pharmacists who provide advice to the GP’s and Nurses regarding the safe use of medicines within the practice.

District Nurses

We have a skilled team of District Nurses who provide care for housebound patients of all ages. In the community, arrangements for care at home are usually made by the practice or the hospital on discharge but should you wish to contact the nurses yourself, please telephone (01241) 822548 or (01241) 430303.

Health Visitors

The Health Visiting Service provides professional care, support and advice to promote and achieve health and wellbeing for pre-school children. The service is available to pre-school children and their families. Health visitors work in partnership with parents, carers and other organisations to support them in giving children the best possible start in life.
